Every year I evaluate my life, and how it has changed. Last year, the 26th year, was amazing, frustrating, discouraging, encouraging, and full of changes.
This last year I subbed for 1/2 of it and then the other 1/2 I got one of the two things that my heart desired-a job. And although my job is hard, frustrating, and I have no idea what I am doing at times, I love it! I can officially say that I am employed full time in the profession that I $pent lots of time and money on in school. I have learned a lot and have an extraordinary support system who all want me to succeed. This is not a job that I would have chosen for myself, but it is one that chose me, and I would have to say that I have gotten many compliments on the strategies that I use with my students... some days I think that I was made for this job.
On top of the job, I am enrolled at UNI as a grad student starting to work on getting my masters in Special Education. I am excited about the class that I am starting next week, and the fact that I have no "summer" due to the other fact that I will be in class(9 credit hours)!!! Special Ed. here I come.
Then there is the husband, and although I do complain sometimes, he is here supporting me. He felt so guilty for moving us to the "middle of nowhere" and that I was not able to have the 2 things that I desired the most. He was there when I was angry, he was there when I was frustrated, he was there to celebrate with me, and he is there to love me and take care of me. When they say that there is one person matched for each of us, I found my chubby hubby that is just right. Lately we have been able to read each others' minds, we love to sit and relax in each others' company. I love him even though he is 1/2 way across the world on my birthday.
Family is very important to me also, I can never laugh so hard with anyone else! We have many inside jokes, and it seems that our relationships have grown to a place of acceptance. My parents are amazing and have a lot to be proud of! All three of their children are employed, self dependant, and spiritual in their own ways. Thank you to mom and dad for everything!
My life has become full, in ways that I could only imagine. I do not want to mention the part of my life that is not in place yet-being a mother. It is frustrating to see others become happy when you can not, but it is something that has made me stronger and appreciate everything that I have. God knows the way, I just have to follow him.
FRIENDS, I have lost some and gained great new friends. I have friend that will always know me, that feel like family, and that I trust like no other. I have new friends and old friends, they are all loving and accepting of me. Thank you for being there!
Even though I was freaking out about turning 27, I think "what can this year bring?" and I get excited about all of the possibilities.

Life goes on....
Have you ever had a "perfect" life, doubtful. Just when you feel like everything is working out, life throws you a pothole. There are too many factors that you have to deal with, friends, family, work, spouses, education, and not to mention the spouse. There are plenty of other factors not included in that list.
I have been thinking about my life as 2011 has come, and Here is what IA have come up with. My true friends, are ones that care about me, it does not matter how long we have been apart it is never awkward, we just pick back up where we left off. My husband loves me no matter if I have make up on, hair done, my body type, or if I am grumpy or more... My family is supportive but not intrusive. My job is stressful, but I love it!!!
That is all I got for now!

4 Years....
It is hard to believe that Davin and I have lived in Marshalltown for 4 years in just 2weeks from now... Time flies when you are trying to make everyday the best, in this horrible little town...
When we moved in we had the intention of staying only 5 years, but now that I have a job and need to finish school it will probably be more like 8 years. Not much has changed from then to now. Our house has changed and we have gotten fatter, but as far as our social lives when comparing them then and now, not much of a difference. We have few friends, and none that we socialize with on a regular basis. Some might say that this is our fault, but all relationships have two sides, and we have never really been accepted into the social network her in Marshalltown. I think that that is the hardest part of living in the middle of what seems like nowhere.
There have been other challenges also, financially, reproductively, career wise... Davin and I have not been able to conceive. Well, really we found out that it is not Davin it is me. My body produces to much prolactin (the hormone that tells your body to lactate) which inhibits me to ovulate regularly... We just found this out when I was offered the job, so we decided to wait on the trying side. Some may think that this was the best option, but telling myself to stay positive is like trying to hold water in your hands, it only lasts so long. Then you have to start all over.
On the upside, Spencer has a new home with our neighbor, Jan!!! I have a Job as a Special Education teacher, and i work with some amazing teachers!!! My sister lives in Omaha now!!!

Buys Life....
Davin and I have been on an organization kick... After what seems to be the busiest fall ever, we finally got most of the yard work done tonight (half in the dark)... We also just red modeled our bedroom and office space. It is nice to have things in our house coming together. Eventually we will replace all the flooring, but until then if you come over don't judge us by our carpet...white is not very becoming...
I finally got accepted into the Masters Program at UNI (University of Northern Iowa-for those of you who may not know). Got registered, just to find out that I was in the wrong program of study...in the end I am in the right program now, I just have to touch base with my advisor.
I have had a huge learning curve at work, most of the time I feel like I have no idea what is going on... Oh well, loving every minute of it.
Counting down the days until Thanksgiving!!!

fall days...oh how I love thee!!!
It is one of the most beautiful days, today. I am sitting outside on a lawn chair in the shade of our lilac tree (yes a tree). Watching the pooches snoozing in the sun, while I am reading The Last Song!
Davin is cleaning the chimney today, I made chili for the Husker game today. Earlier we went to Green Castle Park and took a walk with the bassets. Spencer is in his new semi-permanent home, with our neighbor Jan!!! She is very excited to have him with her.
Davin did a job that I normally do this week, he took the dogs to the vet...He paid for every test for every dog...$200 later we apparently have some very healthy dogs ;). Spencer got raving coments on how healthy he is for a 10 year old dog, that is why he is now staying with Jan... Spencer weights 33.3 lbs which is in the "normal" ranger for cockers. Elly Mae weighs 45.4 lbs, and Jasper tops the scales at 51.6 lbs!!! I knew he was a big boy, but not 6 lbs more than Elly...
Oh well I better go back inside now and get ready for the Kratzers to come over for the game....Until next time!

A week alone...
Davin left me for a whole week to go be Fisher's poster boy, and to hang with Hayder for the weekend. I was the responsible one and stayed home to work. I was worried that the week would drag by, but I was mistaken...I must be getting old because it flew by, or at least now it seems that way. Davin is now driving us home from the airport. I embarrassed him with the whole jumping in to his arms thing...it is always nice to have a time appart, but nicer to be back together!!!!
